Color-coated steel coils can also be based on hot-dip galvanized, hot-dip aluminum-zinc, electro-galvanized, or other substrates. After surface pre-treatment (chemical degreasing and chemical conversion), one or more organic paint layers are applied, then cured by baking. These coils are named for their colored organic coatings, commonly referred to as "color-coated coils".
Color-coated steel coils are manufactured by applying roll-coated liquid paint layers to various substrates-including hot-rolled, galvanized, aluminum-zinc coated, cold-rolled, tin-plated, and stainless steel-after surface pre-treatment (degreasing and chemical treatment), followed by baking, cooling, and light rolling.
